A French Facebook group is calling on Apple to give away its upcoming iPad! What balls! The group, Pour qu’Apple offre des iPad calls out Apple’s astronomical margins, apparently over $200 on the entry-level model.
Given the success of the iPhone and the revenue made on subsidized mobile contracts, it would make sense that the company work out deal with major mobile carriers and offer the iPad at much lower prices. According to Bill Shope, an alnalyst at Crédit Suisse, Cuppertino could eventualy move to contract based revenue model in the near future given the product’s niche position on the market.
