The Apple Store has just been updated with the shipping date for the 3G variant of the iPad. You can pre-order your 3G iPad and expect to receive it by May 7th which means that some deliveries could even come earlier. As expected AT&T will be ready and waiting for you to activate its $30 a month unlimited data plan.
Despite the posted May 7th date, the pre-order confirmation email is still on track with the late April delivery.
“To Our Valued Apple Customer:
Thank you for your recent order of the magical and revolutionary iPad 3G.
We would like to confirm that your order will be shipped in late April as communicated at the time you placed your order. You will receive a confirmation notice when your order has shipped.”
For our European readers, that means the iPad will be out in full force in the US 3 days before the announcement of specific international availability, scheduled for May 10th. This might give europeans the hope that the iPad may come out in both Wifi and 3G at the same time outside of the US.
