As Dell gets ready to step into the smartphone market, the company debuted a tablet prototype they plan to launch this year. The device, which was introduced at CES in Las Vegas was unveiled along with an 11-inch gaming laptop called the Alienware M11x.
The tablet concept revealed at CES will be marketed as a companion device to a PC and will have a 5-inch display. Dell said the device will offer a “full Web experience around accessing, maintaining and syncing and share digital content”. The form factor on this upcoming Dell tablet is smaller than competing hardware being announced by HP/Microsoft and presumably by Apple.
The question around this device remains if it will offer 3G connectivity or not considering Dell also plans to release a smartphone in the near future.
