Akihabara News, a Japanese tech news site, has published pictures of a prototype Fujitsu ereader featuring a color e-iknk screen.
Fujitsu began working on this technology a year ago and it looks as though we could soon see color devices such as this one hitting the market. While no information is currently available on its hardware specifications, the device should be released this year and will be Fujitsu’s latest ultra slim ereader.
This new class of ereaders should fill a nice gap in the market. Sitting directly between a Kindle and an iPad, consumers who are simply looking to read books but want a color screen will now have a viable option.
